There are several key midweek events at Christ Church which help us to deepen our love and knowledge of Jesus and develop a deeper fellowship with one another through reading the Bible and prayer together.
Growth Groups and other small groups
Growth groups, for members of Christ Church who have been with us some while, meet fortnightly during term time in homes around the area. They exist to grow their members together in love for Christ and one another through Bible study, prayer and active Christian partnership together. This is in the belief that God's Word - humbly listened to and obeyed - changes lives, and so each group grows together as disciples of Christ, learning to love him, follow him and serve him.
Members of the Christ Church who are either new to the church or new to the Christian faith (or both) don't join a Growth Group straight away, but rather join one of our introductory groups: Belonging Explored, Christianity Explored or Discipleship Explored, whichever is appropriate for them.
There are also some daytime women's groups that meet to study the Bible together, and monthly men's bible studies.
Prayerworks
Prayerworks meets roughly every fourth Wednesday; an informal central gathering for prayer where we focus on praying for the mission of Christ Church and the mission partners we support. We strongly encourage all church members and especially those in Growth Groups to attend.
