Sunday Children's Groups
Our groups provide a safe place for your child to learn about Jesus, whether they are visiting for the first time or are part of our family. Our friendly leaders are passionate about teaching the Bible in simple, relevant and engaging ways. All leaders undergo comprehensive Disclosure and Barring Service checks before becoming regular members of the team.
We all start the morning together in the Family Gathering for the first ten or fifteen minutes. There is then a time when the children leave with their leaders and some parents to go to their groups.
Crawlers is a secure and comfortable place for babies and toddlers. Children can either be left under the care of an experienced leader or accompanied by their carer if preferable. Each Sunday there is Bible teaching and songs to help these children take their first steps with Jesus.
Scramblers is the group for children who are ready to take part in a more structured lesson, including songs, Bible teaching, craft and prayer. They meet in the Church Centre.
Climbers meet in the Church Halls and is for children who have started school and are in Reception to Year Two. Lead by a talented team, the children will be taught the gospel from the Bible as well as having opportunity to make craft, pray, sing Bible songs and play games to supplement their learning. We encourage parents to take an active interest in what their children are learning so that they can reinforce the teaching at home during the week.
Explorers is our group for children in years three to six and it's our hope that during their time in Explorers their knowledge and understanding of the Christian faith will grow as they look deeper into the Word, preparing them for more independent study in years to come. Our primary focus is on teaching the Gospel to the children from the whole Bible, whether it be the Old or New Testament. This is usually accompanied by some run-around games, pencil and paper challenges and a time of prayer.
