Filmmaker, author and international speaker on the Christian faith, Glen is CEO of Speak Life. He is based in Eastbourne with his family. Glen will be interviewing our guests every evening, then speaking on the topic.

Helen grew up in a safe suburb of London, but from a young age, she was no stranger to brokenness and trauma. Bullying at school and childhood abuse cast long shadows over her early years, leaving her grappling with questions of identity and purpose.

In her story, Helen will share how she tried to regain control amidst the chaos through disordered eating, alcohol and self-harm. She’ll speak openly about her struggles with mental health and also the real hope she’s found in Jesus in the midst of an anxious world.

Damian is a member of our church family and is married to Yasmin. Their journey hasn’t always felt secure — and at times, it still doesn’t. Their story includes Damian’s adoption, his rejection and later rediscovery of the Christian faith, and Yasmin’s battle with cancer. More recently, they’ve faced the loss of financial stability following the collapse, during Covid, of the business Damian was heavily involved in.  In the midst of uncertainty and some relational strain, Damian will share how they are finding true security in knowing God.

Howard is a member of our church family. In the early 2000s, he was married and working in a good city job when life suddenly changed. He was made redundant during the Credit Crisis, and around the same time, his marriage ended. As the comfort of his former life fell away, his dependence on God deepened. After time spent working for our church, Howard now works as a pastor in a local dementia care home.  He is well-placed to speak about the comfort he has received — and now shares — with others.

Growing up, Swarzy didn’t believe God was real. But everything began to change at age 14, when she was caught shoplifting and, in desperation, called out to God for help. Not long after, she was invited to a local church, where she first heard about Jesus—his life, death, and resurrection. Seeing how this message transformed the lives of others, she began to investigate Christianity for herself.  She’ll be sharing how her life has changed since then and what that looks like in her work in the world of media.
